Rock and roll suitcase

Six down and three to go... I'm missing home but I'm enjoying the tour. Usually I keep my head low and just go; car, hotel, soundcheck, eat, gig, car hotel, sleep... then repeat that process for the duration of the tour, but this time I'm making time. I'm getting to hang out with some friends I don't get to see that often and catch up on life. It's all good. Well, when I say all good... there was a moment last night at dinner when I met some friends of friends, one of which was an eye surgeon (he's far too young and hip to be an eye surgeon but there you go). He was late to dinner because he was in surgery and I foolishly asked what was happening that kept him late. He went into a story about rebuilding some young fellow's eye.... Bad idea when you're eating King Prawns! I'm sure they don't have the same texture but with every bite, I couldn't help but make imaginary comparisons.... yikes. The gigs have been great so far, especially enjoyed the Glee club in Birmingham, a wonderful venue with even better staff. I was talking to Markus, the guy that books the music, and he was telling me of all the people he's promoted. What a list! Everything from Joan as Police woman to Damien Rice and from Martha Wainwright to ...wait for it... Jeff Buckley. It's just great working with people that are so passionate about music.
I'm obviously very passionate about rock and roll to, I mean, all you have to do is take a look at my suitcase... what more does one need other than cowboy boots ans gin?
